While performing at her husband Rene's funeral has never crossed her mind, it's still possible that one or two of her songs play in the background at the mournful event.

AceShowbiz - There have been speculations saying that Celine Dion would perform at her husband Rene Angelil's funeral. However, the "That's the Way It Is" singer quickly set the record straight on the rumors.

Celine's rep told TMZ that it never crossed her mind. Nevertheless, "it's possible one or two of her songs will play in the background," noted the news outlet. The 47-year-old singer doesn't even think about performing at her husband's funeral because she's still mourning his death.

The rumors were first published by HollywoodLife.com which claimed that a source said, "Celine plans to declare her love for Rene once more at his funeral with a touching performance dedicated to him and their life together."

"She wants to honor her husband in song and is looking to perform at his funeral," the supposed source continued. "Although it is still unclear what song she would sing, sources are speculating that she may perform her love ballad, 'Because You Loved Me'. What a perfect, yet heartbreaking choice that would be."

The rumors aside, Rene's funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal in accordance to his final wishes. A Chapel of Rest will be open to the public on January 21 followed by a religious service on January 22. A public memorial in Las Vegas, where Celine is now on an extended residency, is scheduled on February 3 at the Caesars Palace Colosseum.
