Michael Galeota, who starred on Disney Channel's "The Jersey", passed away at the age of 31 on Sunday, January 10. According to TMZ, the Disney alum was found dead in his room after hospitalized for abdominal pain.
The news outlet reported that Michael went to a hospital in the previous week after he complained of abdominal pain. However, he left the hospital on Wednesday against the doctors' advice. A friend worried about his condition as he went radio silent over the weekend. His friend, then, decided to come to his house and found his body lying in the living room.
Multiple sources told the news outlet that Michael had a history of hypertension and high cholesterol in addition to diverticulitis, an inflammation of the digestive tract. A coroner said that he died of natural causes and an autopsy was scheduled to take place in the near future.
Michael's family created a page on Go Fund Me website to raise money for his burial. "It is with tremendous heartfelt sadness to announce the passing of Michael James Galeota on January 10th. He died peacefully at home," read the statement on the website. "Although his life was short, we are grateful and appreciate the experience of having been loved, and loved him in return, and for being in our lives... Please help us to provide a burial that is worthy of a GIVER."
