Although "Money Monster" was announced back in 2014, there isn't much information about the movie, aside from some cast announcements. Earlier this week, EW debuted two official photos, giving a first look at Julia Roberts and George Clooney in the upcoming film.

The first photo features Clooney as Lee Gates, a TV personality who offers trading tips on his hit show "Money Monster". Gates is seen wearing a striped tie over a blue shirt as he is caught by two security officers. Meanwhile, the other photo sees Roberts as Nancy Fenn, the director and executive producer of "Money Monster" who may serve as Gates' love interest. She is seen picking up a phone in a monitor room.

The movie follows Gates, who becomes the money guru of Wall Street on his own TV program. When an investor named Kyle Budwell (Jack O'Connell) lost all of his family's money on a bad tip from the money expert, he decides to hold Gates hostage on air. More tragically, Budwell storms Gates' studio with a gun in front of a live audience and threatens to kill him if the stock price of the now beaten down stock doesn't return to previous levels.

Jodie Foster sits behind the lens, marking the actress' first directorial project since 2011's "The Beaver". "Money Monster" will be released in theaters across the nation on April 8, 2016.
