It turns out that starring as an on-screen couple who has a rocky marriage in "By the Sea" has an impact on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's relationship, but don't worry, it's not a negative one. Jolie explained that during the filming, she and husband Pitt discovered new things about their relationship that they had never known before.

The 40-year-old actress, who directed the movie, admitted that they both could see how they reacted in the aftermath of a fight. "Brad has never seen what I'm like when he's left me after one of our fights," she told French Elle for its December issue. "Sometimes I'm strong. But as soon as he leaves the room, I melt into tears."

Jolie said that the film gave Pitt opportunities to see her after a blowout. "With this film, he sees it," she added. "And I see into his private moments." The good thing is, it helped them understand each other better in their real-life relationship. "I filmed it and I discovered his expressions," Jolie explained. "So I better understand his frustrations over certain aspects in me."

However, there was something that made the "Maleficent" star feel weird and maybe it's because the couple in the film was not based on their relationship and Pitt had a different way to cope with a fight. "The most difficult scenes were the most drawn-out fights: normally if Brad sees me cry, it ends by his taking care of me. But here, in the film he had to stay angry, and I couldn't take it personally," she said. "It was so strange and interesting."
