Is Jimmy Fallon going to lose his "Tonight Show" job? Rumor has it, Chelsea Handler is "waiting in the wings" and "ready to swoop in to take over" as the host of the NBC late-night talk show as soon as the seat is left vacant.

While Fallon has been able to keep the show's ratings solid, Radar Online reports that "his drunken antics are starting to cast a shadow over the show." Thus, Chelsea is allegedly "rubbing her hands together with glee over Jimmy Fallon's fall from grace" and has "informed NBC she's available to take over any time."

"She's convinced it's only a matter of time before the network starts preparing for a back-up plan should Jimmy fail to rein in his boozing," a so-called insider tells the site.

Gossip Cop, however, debunks the report, saying that it's both "stupid" and "clueless." In fact, in August NBC renewed Fallon's contract that will keep him on as "The Tonight Show" host through 2021.

Handler, who ended her "Chelsea Lately" in 2014, will have her new series streaming on Netflix beginning in 2016. She once said that she had no interest in replacing David Letterman on "The Late Show", explaining, "I was not interested in going to a network. I was never interested in taking somebody else's job."
