Daniel Fleetwood lost his battle against spindle cell sarcoma only days after watching an early cut of his favorite movie.

AceShowbiz - Daniel Fleetwood, the terminally-ill fan who saw "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" early, has passed away. The patient who was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma died only days after watching his favorite movie. His wife Ashley broke the sad news on Facebook.

"Daniel put up an amazing fight to the very end. He is now one with God and with the force. He passed in his sleep and in peace. He will always be my idol and my hero," she wrote. "Rest in peace my love. This was the last selfie we ever took together. ‪#‎forcefordaniel‬."

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was screened early for Daniel before the official December 18 release after an online campaign launched by his wife went viral and got support from the cast members like Mark Hamill and John Boyega.

"To all our wonderful supporters, friends, family and awesome strangers: Daniels final dream was just granted!!! Today the wonderful Disney and Lucasfilms made his final dream come true, in the amazing typical Disney way, they really do make dreams come true!" she wrote on Facebook after the screening.

After Daniel's passing, Boyega sent his condolences on Twitter, "#ForceForDaniel glad you got to see the movie more importantly that you slept in peace. God bless you man x x you inspire me xx." Peter Mayhew also tweeted, "R.I.P Daniel Fleetwood. May The Force Be With You, Always."
