Michael Stuhlbarg in Talks to Star in Marvel's 'Doctor Strange'
Movie

The 47-year-old American actor may nail his first superhero movie if negotiations with Marvel go through.

Michael Stuhlbarg, whose credits include "Men in Black 3" and TV series "Boardwalk Empire", is nearing a deal to star in Marvel's "Doctor Strange". Although it's a month away from shooting, the actor's role is kept under wraps for now.

THR reports that Stuhlbarg is in negotiations stage. It would be his first role in a comic book movie. If a deal is struck, he will join Benedict Cumberbatch who has been cast as the supernatural superhero. Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mads Mikkelsen are also attached to the movie. Filming begins in December in London.

"Dr. Strange" follows former surgeon Stephen Strange who discovers magic as he lost the use of his hands. "This is not going to be twenty-minutes of him being a doctor," Devin Faraci of Badass Digest said last year. "For Dr. Strange they've had a script in-house forever. It is a pretty standard origin story for Doctor Strange. It's got Baron Mordo as the bad guy. That's all gone."

"Dr. Strange" is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters November 4, 2016.
