"Sinister 2" director Ciaran Foy is set to direct upcoming Blumhouse's thriller movie "The Shee". According to Deadline, Blumhouse's Jason Blum will serve as producer along with Roads Entertainment's Alan Maher and Foy's own label Shadow Aspect.

Set in 1960s Ireland, "The Shee" centers on "a troubled young woman who must confront her violent and tragic past when she travels to a remote island." "Shee" is an Irish term for a supernatural race in Irish mythology which lives underground or in an invisible world.

Ciaran joins a number of directors who have done repeat business as Blumhouse's genre label including James Wan, James DeMonaco and Scott Derrickson.

"Sinister 2" starring James Ransone and Shannyn Sossamon will be released in the U.S. on Friday, August 21. During a recent roundtable interview, screenwriter Scott Derrickson hinted at a possible "Sinister 3". "Sure, yeah, I'd like there to be ten of them, but it really depends on how this turns out and how it does," Scott replied when asked about the possibility of making the horror series a trilogy.
