Tom Hardy is gunning for the adaptation of acclaimed Vertigo Comics series "100 Bullets". The "Mad Max: Fury Road" actor is set to produce the movie with the possibility of starring as well.
Hardy would produce with Dean Baker under their Hardy Son & Baker production banner, THR reported. The project is already underway with horror scribe Christopher Borrelli penning the script. No detail of the movie's plot is available yet but insiders said "the plan is to stay true to the comic."
Geoff Johns and Adam Schlagman of DC are overseeing the movie along with Richard Brener, Walter Hamada and Dave Neustadter of New Line. The project is the first to move forward since New Line took over the production and development of DC's Vertigo.
Created by writer Brian Azzarello and artist Eduardo Risso, "100 Bullets" represents the noir and pulp genres of popular modern fiction. The story centers on the mysterious Agent Graves who approaches people who have been victims of wrongdoings. The comic books ran for 100 issues and won the Eisner Award and Harvey Award.
