The album, which Prince worked on in only 90 days, will start streaming on the Jay-Z-owned service on September 7.

AceShowbiz - Prince's "HITNRUN (Phase One)" is coming via Tidal. The iconic singer has announced that he's signed an exclusive deal with the Jay-Z-owned streaming service on which the new album will be available starting on September 7.

The forthcoming project was first revealed by Prince's band 3RDEYEGIRL in an interview with BBC last month. "Super hardcore Prince fans that know every song he's ever recorded - we refer to them as 'The Purple Collective' or 'The Purple Army' - this album is absolutely for them, because it's super funky," they explained back then.

In a statement released on Friday, August 7, Prince said that he worked on the album in about three months. "HitNRun took about 90 days 2 prepare its release. If that's what freedom feels like, HitNRun is what it sounds like," he wrote.

A follow-up to "ART OFFICIAL AGE" and "PLECTRUMELECTRUM" which arrived on the same day last year, "HITNRUN" is expected to feature the previously-released "HARDROCKLOVER" and "Stare". The latter song was premiered via Spotify, interestingly just a month after Prince removed his catalog from the streaming service.
