Brett Eldredge is tapped to judge next year's Miss America competition. The country music singer is the first of the seven juries announced for the 95th anniversary of the beauty pageant broadcast Live by ABC on Sunday, September 13 from Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.

The evening will see 52 women representing their home states and territories to compete to bring home the crown and scholarship. "I get to judge Miss America. Are you kidding me?!" gushes Eldredge. "Talk about a dream come true! I can't wait to be a part of this."

He tells PEOPLE what he is looking for in the contestants, "I love a woman that has it together. She knows what she wants for her career and her life and has goals. It's beyond beauty - it's that they have it together and they know what they want. I'll be basing a lot of my decisions on that."
