Daniel Radcliffe to Play FBI Agent in Terrorism Film 'Imperium'

The Harry Potter depicter is set to star as an FBI undercover agent, who tries to stop an act of terrorism, in the film which is based on a true event.

AceShowbiz - Having portrayed a teenage wizard in "Harry Potter" movie series for years, Daniel Radcliffe now has a shot at starring in crime and terrorism film "Imperium". According to Deadline, Radcliffe will take the lead role as a young FBI agent.

Based on the experiences of FBI undercover agent Michael German, the movie centers on the FBI agent who is recruited for a secret mission. He infiltrates a group of white supremacists who are planning a terrible terrorist act.

The film will mark the feature directorial debut of short filmmaker Daniel Ragussis. Ty Walker, Dennis Lee and Simon Taufique produce the movie while the script is written by German alongside Ragussis.

The action movie will start filming this fall. As of now, the official release date has not been announced yet, but the movie is expected to arrive in U.S. theaters in 2016.

Radcliffe recently made a cameo appearance in comedy movie "Trainwreck" which starred Amy Schumer and Bill Hader. The 26-year-old actor is pretty busy as he is currently filming indie feature "Swiss Army Man.

He will be next seen in "Victor Frankenstein", which also stars James McAvoy. The British actor will star as Lee Atwater in political comedy "Young Americans". He will also join a series of famous actors such as Jesse Eisenberg and Mark Ruffalo in "Now You See Me: The Second Act".
