Shawn Booth and Nick Viall meet Kaitlyn Bristowe's parents and despite their confidence, one of them ends up going home with a broken heart.

AceShowbiz - "The Bachelorette" has a new winner. As always, the season finale began with "meet the parents" session before Kaitlyn Bristowe made her choice. Both Shawn Booth and Nick Viall were well received by her family, although Kaitlyn's stepmom was clearly rooting for Shawn because she didn't like what Nick said about having sex with Andi Dorfman during last season's "After the Final Rose".
Then it's the decisive moment. Nick met Kaitlyn first and he was so confident that she would've picked him. He was about to get down on his knee when she stopped him and told him that her "heart is just with somebody else." Nick said he was "confused." He asked if her feeling for him was real.
"What I felt for you was bigger than a moment and you knew how I felt about you," he told Kaitlyn, appearing to hold back tears. "It's not fair for you to tell me what I feel, you feel the same. Because you don't. And if you did, you'd have a ring on your finger right now."
In the limo, Nick admitted, "Obviously I do feel foolish. ... I do feel like it was the best setup, you know, to actually hear her tell me she loves me more than once. It is like a f***ing joke. I am the world's biggest joke."
After sending Nick away, Kaitlyn said, "I did not like to see him hurt like that," but she had "no regrets." Next, Kaitlyn met Shawn, who called her his "best friend, a partner in crime, my teammate, the love of my life." He added, "You have already made me the happiest guy in the world and all I want to do is make you the happiest girl in the world."
Shawn then proposed to her and she said yes. He put a Neil Lane diamond ring on her finger and that's how Kaitlyn's journey on "The Bachelorette" came to an end. The couple would talk about their life after being engaged in the "After the Final Rose" special.
