AceShowbiz - "Fatal Attraction" is getting a reboot as event series at FOX, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Mad Men" writer-producer duo Maria and Andre Jacquemetton are executive producing and writing the remake of the 1987 thriller starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close.

According to the site, the project, which received a script commitment, is "being eyed as a short-order event series, but with a potential to continue for a second season." Stanley R. Jaffe and Anonymous Content's Rosalie Swedlin will serve as executive producers.

The original movie was developed and supervised by current FOX president of entertainment David Madden when he was an exec at Paramount's film studio. The potential series is described as a reimagining of the original film, in which a married man's indiscretion comes back to haunt him.

FOX is also rebooting "The X-Files" and will launch film-to-TV remake to 2012's "Minority Report" as well as a new take on "Frankenstein". Paramount, meanwhile, has its "Shutter Island" remake in the works at HBO and "Shooter" at USA Networks among others. The deal of "Fatal Attraction" reboot expands the two studios' relationship beyond their upcoming "Grease Live" production.
