'X-Men: Days of Future Past: Rogue Cut' Clip Released
Movie

The first clip of the extended version of 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' features Iceman, Magneto and young Magneto teaming up to save Rogue.

AceShowbiz - 20th Century Fox has revealed never-before-seen footage from "X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut". The new release includes 17 minutes of additional footage which reinstates the scenes of Rogue which were omitted from the theatrical release.

The nearly one-minute clip features Anna Paquin's Rougue lying in a tough spot inside the Cerebro. Shawn Ashmore's Iceman and both Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen's Magneto try their best to save Rougue. At the end of the clip, Fassbender's young Magneto breaks the glass with his superpower to take his iconic helmet.

The studio decided to release the extended version of the film because many fans were upset knowing that many of Rogue's scenes were not included in the theatrical version. Writer Simon Kinberg previously explained why Rogue's cameo was excluded from the finished version. "In a movie that had a ton of plots and a ton of characters to service, the Rogue plot - as you will probably eventually see - was a subplot," he said.

He continued, "It was a deviation from the main story of the movie, and as much as we loved it when we saw it, anything that took you away from the main spine, the main story of the film, we had to cut."

"The Rogue Cut" will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and Digitial HD on July 14. It will debut in four screens during San Diego Comic-Con on July 11 at 8 P.M. The screenings are taking place at the Reading Cinema - Gaslamp District (701 5th Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101).
