The 'Gold Digger' rapper says in a new interview that he sacrificed his mom for his success.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West opens up about his mother Donda West's death in an interview with Q Magazine, saying he holds himself accountable for the loss. When asked what he has had to sacrifice for his success, Kanye replies, "My mom."

"If I had never moved to L.A. she'd be alive," the husband of Kim Kardashian continues of his beloved mother, who inspired his business DONDA. "I don't want to go far into it because it will bring me to tears."

Kanye's mother passed away at the age of 58 in 2007 after suffering complications from plastic surgery at a hospital in Los Angeles. The 38-year-old Grammy-winning rapper paid tribute to his mother through his lyrics in "Only One" song featuring Paul McCartney. He also got his wrists tattooed with his mother and his daughter North West's birth dates.

Kanye, who is expecting his second child with Kim, also speaks about life as a parent himself. He shares about how he makes sure to spend quality time with North during his hectic schedule. "While [Nori's] here in Europe I have to have six hours a day with her because otherwise I'll just work and she'll get scheduled around meetings. Instead, the meetings get scheduled around her."
