A fan shares a picture of a Mexican tumbler for 'The Force Awakens' that shows the protocol droid with a red replacement limb.

AceShowbiz - Leaked image of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" merchandise has suggested that C3PO has a new arm. A "Star Wars" fan shared on Twitter a photo of a tumbler for J.J. Abrams' movie with a picture of C3PO sporting red replacement limb.

In the picture, the protocol droid, which is portrayed by Anthony Daniels, poses alongside his old comrade R2-D2 and the newcomer BB-8. Last month, a photo emerged online of "The Force Awakens" table with C3PO's red arm. Fans should wait until the movie's December 18 release to find out why the droid has new red arm in "The Force Awakens".

C3PO has experienced some various states of disembodiment in the "Star Wars" film series. In the 1977 movie, he lost a limb to a Tusken Raider while trying to find R2-D2 in the Jundland Wastes. He was later briefly completely dismembered during a visit to Lando Calrissian's Cloud City in the 1980 sequel. In some parts of the original trilogy, the usually golden C-3PO was also spotted with a silver leg.
