Disney is making a live-action "Fantasia" movie based on its "Night on Bald Mountain" sequence, The Hollywood Reporter reports. The script for the project will be written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, whose collaborations include "Dracula Untold" and "Gods of Egypt".

Matt and Burk are also executive producing the film which will expand on a dark, creepy 10-minute fantasy sequence which features a yellow eyed, winged creature named Chernabog who summons a set of mysterious spirits who fly over a town and frolic in cave as dawn rises on a rolling landscape. The sequence is the last of eight musical segments in the classic animated film which features music from Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky.

Sources tell the site that the live-action flick will be similar to what Disney did to "Maleficent" starring Angelina Jolie.

News of "Fantasia" project follows a slew of announcements regarding live-action reboots of Disney classic animated films. Following the success of "Maleficent", "Alice in Wonderland" and "Cinderella", the studio is working on live-action versions of "Beauty and the Beast (2017)", "Pinocchio (2017)", "The Jungle Book", "Dumbo", "Pete's Dragon", "Mulan", "Winnie the Pooh (2017)" and "Through the Looking Glass".
