The 'Barely Lethal' actress is on board a Young Adult adaptation, while the 'It Follows' star joins Liam Hemsworth in the 'Independence Day' sequel.

Hailee Steinfeld is set to headline supernatural romantic thriller "Break My Heart 1,000 Times" which could launch a new franchise. Scott Speer sits behind the lens, and Jason Fuchs writes the script based on Daniel Waters' Young Adult novel of the same name.
The story centers on a cataclysmic event that has torn the barrier between our world and the next, leaving "Remnants," ghost-like essences of the deceased, part of everyday life. After years of quiet coexistence with the living, a Remnant sends a threatening message to a young girl, propelling her on a mission with consequences that will forever change the course of her life.
Casting news also comes from "Independence Day 2". "It Follows" star Maika Monroe is announced by director Roland Emmerich to join the cast that includes Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Joey King, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, and Jessie Usher. Monroe is rumored to play a love interest to Hemsworth's character.
