Before playing the first date on his "Hit & Run" tour, Prince surprised his fans on late Thursday night, March 12 when he debuted a new single on Louisville, Kentucky radio station WFPK. Featuring his band 3RDEYEGIRL, the song is a cover of Christian singer/songwriter Nichole Nordeman's "What If".

On his version, Prince is joined by the girl group's drummer Hannah Welton on vocals. They take turn singing the lyrics while being backed by feisty guitar riffs.
