AceShowbiz - As 20th Century Fox had given the greenlight for a third "Wolverine" film, it has been confirmed that shooting on the still-in-progress feature will be kicked off early next year. It was the film's director James Mangold who broke the news in a Twitter exchange with fan.

"When does filming start for Wolverine 3???" so a fan tweeted to Mangold. To that question, he replied, "early next year."

Details on the upcoming film are not yet available. Title also hasn't been chosen. In fact, the movie has been planned for March 3, 2017 release date. Mangold is set to direct again from a script written by David James Kelly.

Talks have been mounting that Patrick Stewart will appear alongside Hugh Jackman in the upcoming third film. There's no official word just yet though from the studio regarding the matter. 20th Century Fox itself has had three big films slated to be released in 2016, namely "Deadpool", "X-Men: Apocalypse", and "Gambit (2016)".
