"Adventure Time", a popular series from Cartoon Network, reportedly is heading for the big screen. According to a Friday, February 27 report by Deadline, Chris McKay and Roy Lee are producing the project for Warner Bros.

The children's program created by Pendleton Ward which currently is in its sixth season tells the story of a boy named Finn and his best friend, a shape-shifting dog named Jake, who live in the Land of Ooo. Other characters include Princess Bubblegum, the Ice King, Marceline the Vampire Queen, Lumpy Space Princess and Earl of Lemongrab among others. Many celebrities such as Neil Patrick Harris, Mark Hamill and George Takei have lent their voice for the series.

McKay is one of the executive producers of "The Lego Movie". He has been tapped as the director of "The Lego Batman Movie" which is set for release sometime in 2017. Lee, meanwhile, serves as one of the producers for both movies alongside Dan Lin.
