A new addition has just arrived into Leonor Varela's clan. The 42-year-old actress gave birth to her second child, a baby girl, on Wednesday, February 25 in Santa Monica, California. "We are deeply grateful for the arrival of our daughter, Luna Mae Akosin, to our family," the proud momma revealed to PEOPLE. "Her 8 lbs., 11 oz. of pure love have made us very proud parents for the second time."
In the wake of the infant's arrival, Varela shared her photo cuddling her baby daughter on Instagram. She captioned the shot with, "Feeling so blessed this angel just landed in our arms. Welcome to the family Luna Mae!"
The father of the newborn is Varela's partner, producer Lucas Akoskin. The pair are also parents to 2-year-old son Matteo.
Varela, best known for her recurring role as Marta Del Sol on TV series "Dallas", was due to give birth to Luna last Friday, February 20. Prior to giving birth, she posted two different photos of herself on the beach. "What have I not done to try and get her to come out! #40weeks and 4 days," so she captioned one pic. "Walk walk walk and then hopefully something will happen right??" so read the caption of the other one.
