Original 'Game of Thrones' Pitch Letter Includes Disturbing Love Triangle

In his pitch letter, George R.R. Martin names Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, Bran Stark and Jon Snow as the five key players who will last until the end of the series.

AceShowbiz - Early ideas for George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire", which HBO's popular series "Game of Thrones" is based on, have leaked, revealing a shocking love story that fans of the show might never imagine. British booksellers Waterstones tweeted (and then deleted) photos of a three-page letter from the author to his publisher HarperCollins, pitching an outline for a proposed trilogy.

Among some details mentioned in the letter is a love triangle involving Arya Stark, Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister. Martin wrote, "Their passion will continue to torment Jon and Arya throughout the trilogy, until the secret of Jon's true parentage is revealed in the last book." To further complicate things, Tyrion falls "helplessly in love with Arya Stark" and this will lead to a "deadly rivalry between Tyrion and Jon Snow."

The original outline still has Ned and Catelyn Stark die. Their son Robb goes to war for him and dies on the battlefield, but not before he kills Joffrey. Sansa, meanwhile, is marrying Joffrey and has his child which means she betrays her family, but later she regrets her decision. Jaime becomes the new king after killing everyone else on the line and blames Tyrion for the murders.

While on the show Dany eventually has respect for her husband Khal Drogo, the original pitch letter mentions that Dany avenges her cruel brother Viserys who gets killed by Drogo when she knows that Drogo doesn't want to attack the Seven Kingdoms.

Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, Bran Stark and Jon Snow are the "five key players" and are slated to survive until the end of the book series. The last paragraph of the letter, however, is blacked out, possibly containing spoilery ending of the story.
