Frank Marshall reveals there is no plan for a crossover from the two "Bourne" franchises. The producer opened up about "Bourne" and its future plan in a chat with Collider during a recent event, saying that the "Bourne" with Matt Damon and the one with Jeremy Renner "are on separate tracks."

When asked if there were plans for the two to eventually meet and have a movie together, Marshall replied, "We don't have plans for that. You never know. I never say never. But that's not the plan. They're on separate tracks." On question whether Renner would still have a role in the franchise, he said, "In the franchise, yes."

Damon starred in the first three "Bourne" movies before Renner replaced him as the lead actor in 2012's "The Bourne Legacy", playing Aaron Cross. Damon's "Bourne 5", directed by Paul Greengrass, is set to be released in the U.S. on July 29, 2016.

Renner previously hinted at a possible crossover. "I think they'll be separate movies, and then the idea is for us to either team up, or be adversaries," he told The Daily Beast late last year. In a separate chat with Huffington Post, he shared, "I think Cross' character is already going to continue to be active. I think it will take creatives to bring them together, which is what I think is ultimately the plan."
