A "Wheel of Fortune" contestant wowed his opponents and viewers when he solved a puzzle with just one letter on the board. Matt DeSanto did the impossible in the Friday, December 26 episode of the long-running game show.

DeSanto hit the buzz soon after an "E" of a three-word character was revealed. "The Lone Ranger," he answered, and host Pat Sajak laughed while saying he's right. "I'm never going to do this again. I'm going to keep buzzing," he said. Sajak joked, "I don't want to cause trouble at home, but I still think there's a connection between you and Vanna."

He later told Today.com, "The wheel definitely worked in my favor. I was extremely fortunate." Asked how he prepared for the game, he responded, "Maybe some extra crossword puzzles. I tried not to overthink it too much."

The the 35-year-old from Pennsylvania ended up winning $91,892 that night. "I was pretty exhausted [by the bonus round]," he admitted. "I should have picked better letters."
