A college student named Jess Smith reveals she's the one who played the sun on the popular children's show "Teletubbies". The 19-year-old Smith, who is now a first-year dance education student at the Canterbury Christ Church University, recently revealed that she's the giggling baby on the BBC program featuring Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa and Po after rumors suggested "Laguna Beach" star Jessica Smith is actually the baby.

"So I've recently celebrated my 19th birthday and after a lot of thought, I've decided it's time to tell everyone," she shared, as reported by DailyMail. "I used to hide it but after a lot of encouragement from my friends at university, I've gained the confidence to come out with it. I am the sun from Teletubbies. There has been quite a few people pretending to be 'the sun' but only I could tell you the real story."

Smith was filmed for the hugely popular show at the age of nine months after her mom took her to Edenbridge Hospital in Kent to be weighed. A health visitor who was asked to find smiley babies then recommended her.

"It was just something a bit different to do and we didn't expect it to be as big as it was. They just sat her in front of a camera and she just laughed and smiled at her dad," said her mother. Back then, her dad just played with a teddy bear behind the scene while she sat on a high chair.

Smith isn't disappointed with the fact that she only got paid £250 or about $390 and was given a box of toys. "I am sure I loved the box of toy. No one knew how big the show was going to be so we didn't get offered royalties," Smith said.
