A new Pee-wee Herman movie is one step closer to see the light of the day. Initially being set up at Universal, the yet-to-be-titled project produced by Judd Apatow is now reportedly close to landing on Netflix.

A spokesperson for Universal tells TheWrap that the "Pee-wee project is no longer with Universal," but a Netflix spokesperson says that there's no deal in place yet. However, a source close to the project says "it moved to Netflix a gazillion months ago."

Paul Reubens will reprise his role as Pee-wee and he co-wrote the script with comedian Paul Rust. Plot details and director have not been announced although the actor said in October that a helmer's already in place. Production is slated to begin in February.
