Video: Stephen Colbert Upsets Dragon Smaug of 'The Hobbit' on 'Colbert Report'
TV

The Comedy Central host makes a big mistake when he laughs at the dragon, who mocks Khaleesi's dragons on 'Game of Thrones' and the Toothless of 'How to Train Your Dragon'.

AceShowbiz - Stephen Colbert welcomed a special guest, a week before he bids farewell to his audience on "The Colbert Report". The comedian interviewed the dragon Smaug of Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" movies which, of course, appeared with the help of CGI and special effects.

The dragon, voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch in the movies, talked about a lot of things from his reputation and the upcoming "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies". Insisting that he's the real dragon, he mocked Khaleesi's dragons on TV series "Game of Thrones" and the Toothless of DreamWorks Animation's "How to Train Your Dragon".

When asked why he tried to kill Bilbo Baggins, he defended himself, "I was standing my ground. Do you have a problem with that?" A scared Colbert replied, "No, no. No, no, I don't." He continued asking Smaug about whether the last "Hobbit" film stays true to the book, but Smaug admitted to having not read the book. He's even clueless about J.R.R. Tolkien who wrote the books.

Asked about his next project, he said he was offered a role on "Sherlock" but he turned it down because he didn't want to star alongside Cumberbatch. Smaug wasn't happy when Colbert reminded him of how Bilbo tricked him in the second "Hobbit" movie and laughed at the dragon, who then expressed his anger by unleashing his breath of fire.

Colbert, who is a big fan of Tolkien's works, recently graced the cover of Entertainment Weekly magazines dressing as some Middle-Earth characters, including Gandalf, the hobbit himself and Legolas. He also has a cameo in "The Battle of the Five Armies" which is due December 17 Stateside.
