The 30 contestants competing on "The Bachelor" season 19 have been announced. There are Amanda, a ballet teacher who hates to clean and loves to shop, a nanny from Wayne, N.J. named Ashley, and another Ashley from Brooklyn who works as a hair stylist.

Bo, a plus-size model who loves sky diving and kids, a WWE diva-in-training, Brittany, high school soccer coach Kara, sport fishing enthusiast Tara and former NFL cheerleader Nikki are among other girls vying for Chris Soules' heart on the show.

"I never really thought about what a population of that size meant in terms of Chris's prospects until I saw how he reacted on night one. He was like a kid in a candy store," host Chris Harrison tells Yahoo TV about the Bachelor's reaction to meeting the 30 gorgeous women. "Chris was so overwhelmed and blown away by the women that it was endearing. At first, I thought he was giving me lip service and being nice, but I realized he'd never really dated women as beautiful as this."

Eight women will be eliminated during the first rose ceremony, while the rest expect to have dates with Chris. To adjust to Chris' life as a farmer, the show's format is tweaked "to resemble and embrace who Chris is" and "to give the women a glimpse at what life would be like with him."

This season, most of the dates will take place in the Hawkeye State instead of various popular cities around the world like in the previous seasons. "We kept it domestic for the most part, and we don't even necessarily hit the glamour spots like New York. Think Des Moines and Dubuque," Chris H. explains.

"The Bachelor" season 19 debuts Monday, January 5 with a three-hour premiere that broadcasts live starting at 8/7c.
