Elisabeth Hasselbeck made an emotional return to "Fox & Friends" on Friday, November 14 after a month-long absence. Elisabeth revealed her hiatus was due to a surgery to remove a tumor from her abdomen.

"I had a tumor in my abdomen," the former "The View" co-host told Steve Doocy and Eric Bolling, "Doctor said, 'You've got to get it out by the end of the month. We don't like how it looks.' I was facing something that potentially could have gone either way."

She continued, "I had a scary week where we didn't know what the results were, But I'm okay... everything came back okay. Surgery's not fun, but it is necessary to find out if you have something really terrible in you or not. And thankfully I had the blessing of it not being cancer."

Elisabeth thanked her family and friends for their support after the procedure. "We had real serious talks at home and honest ones with the kids," she shared, "I could not be more thankful for my family and my friends who've stuck by me with incredible support... And really, starting from the top down here, [Fox News CEO] Mr. [Roger] Ailes, and this entire Fox family treated me like family the entire way."

Elisabeth got emotional when sharing how she dealt with the uncertainty as she awaited her medical results. "So many women and people that I know have stared down the barrel of that cancer gun, and looked at it when they have gotten bad news," she shared, "And (have) done remarkable things, courageously, to fight it. So, I knew if I got that kind of news I would be in their wings and, by their example, able to fight it."

"I didn't get that message and answer from my doctors. I got a clear and clean bill of health, and I'm thankful," she continued, "I'm not a person who believes that I take lot for granted, but I certainly don't take it for granted now. Tim, my husband, he really stepped up, he was my hospital buddy and really took care of me. Friends came to sit with me during some ugly hours."

During the show, Elisabeth could not hold back her tears after watching a surprise video message from her three children.
