USA Network has given the drama series a renewal to explain what happened to Aaron Tveit's character in season 2 finale.

AceShowbiz - USA Network announced on Tuesday, November 11 that "Graceland" would be back for a third season. The drama thriller is given additional 13-episode order for showing "112|percent| average increases in [the] 18-49 [demo]" and to answer some of the cliffhangers in the last season's finale.

"This season of 'Graceland' took viewers on a wild ride with unexpected character twists, and a heart-stopping cliffhanger that left a lead character's fate in question," USA Network President Chris McCumber said in a press release. "[Creator] Jeff Eastin and the talented ensemble cast deliver on all levels, and Season 3 will undoubtedly continue to keep us on the edge of our seats."

In the September finale, former FBI agent Mike Warren was smothered on hospital bed while treated for a gunshot wound. Senior agent Paul Briggs raced to try to save him from corrupt FBI agent Sid Markham's deadly hands.

In an interview with EW, Eastin addressed the possibility of Aaron Tveit's character being dead. "Well, he looks pretty dead," he said, adding, "I won't confirm or deny, but what you see is what you get. I would say that everything we've led up to so far has really been to set Mike in a position where he needs to pay for his sins. Really, the finale was about that payment coming due."

But the season 3 opener won't immediately provide explanation. "The beginning of the season 3 isn't what you're expecting probably. We don't open season 3 in a hospital," Eastin teased. "We open season 3 with Charlie and Jakes getting ready for some kind of event and Jakes can't find his black tie and both of them are in really sh**ty moods. They could be getting ready for a funeral or they could be getting ready for something else. But that's how the season opens."
