Disney Animation Studios has dated its two upcoming animations, "Zootopia" and "Moana", for 2016 releases. The former will hit theaters on March 4, 2016 while "Moana" will open on November 23, 2016. Both are released in 3D.

"Zootopia", directed by "Tangled" helmer Byron Howard, is a tale of a fast-talking fox who's framed for a crime he didn't commit. The script was written by Jared Bush. On its date, the animation will open against Fox's YA adaptation "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" which is directed by Tim Burton.

"Moana", directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, is set in the South Pacific and follows a teen who sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore. It temporarily holds the Thanksgiving date alone.
