Sony Nears Seven-Figure Deal to Buy Robin Hood Film Pitch
Movie

'Hood' reportedly will kick off a series of movies centering on the famous outlaw and his band of Merry Men.

AceShowbiz - A movie about Robin Hood was at the center of a heated bidding war and Sony is looking like a winner. The studio reportedly is in the middle of making a seven-figure deal to buy a pitch titled "Hood".

Working Title and Paramount were also circling the project but Sony and president of production Michael De Luca came out as the lead. Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott brought the pitch to Sony. Sources told THR that the price tag was between $1 million to $2 million and that's excluding producer deals.

Details surrounding the project are scarce other than the report that it's a re-imagining of the classic "Robin Hood" tale. However, it will be far from drama. The tone of the story has been described as "Mission: Impossible" meets the recent "Fast and Furious" movies, according to THR.

Rumor has it, the movie will start a whole new franchise very much like "The Avengers". The movie series will focus on the famous outlaw archer and his band of "Merry Men" such as Little John, Will Scarlett and Friar Tuck.
