Angie Everhart is in deep financial problems and is forced to file for bankruptcy following her battle with cancer. A representative for the model/actress has released a statement explaining the financial issue, adding that Everhart is "confident" that she will solve it.

"Angie Everhart has just been forced to file bankruptcy. Her recent bout with thyroid cancer, from which she has thankfully fully recovered, caused her to incur voluminous medical expenses and prevented her from working for some time. Now able to work again, she is confident that the restructuring will get her back on her feet financially," the rep told Extra.

Everhart revealed her thyroid cancer diagnosis last year. "The most important reason she is revealing this information is to encourage people to learn about cancer prevention, its signs and treatment immediately," her rep said back then.

The former Sports Illustrated model underwent a surgery last May and later was declared cancer-free. "Thanks to all my friends that have supported me though this thyroid cancer!" she tweeted prior the surgery.
