Jason David Frank Up for 'Power Rangers' Reboot
Movie

The original depicter of Tommy Oliver says there has been discussion to get him to appear in the remake.

No actor is cast for "Power Rangers" reboot, but the original star might appear in the remake as Jason David Frank recently suggested. The actor said to Comic Book that there was discussion to get him involved in the revamped version.

"I probably will be involved. They talked to me about it. I don't know how much I am involved, but for sure cameos at least in the reboot movie," spilled the 41-year-old actor who played one of the Rangers, Tommy Oliver, in the earlier adaptations.

A joint project between Lionsgate and Haim Saban, the remake is set for July 22, 2016. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz ("X-Men: First Class") work in tandem to write the script. Roberto Orci was originally tapped to help develop the story, but he bowed out of the project due to his commitment to "Star Trek 3".

The upcoming movie will re-envision the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world.
