Bryan Fuller's sci-fi horror "High Moon" pilot will see the light of the day although Syfy passed on it earlier this year. The 90-minute opener is repackaged as a TV movie whose first four minutes have been shared for viewing pleasure.
The clip highlights two astronauts who are sent to the moon to investigate a crashed satellite. Theorizing that it could have been sabotaged, they see what looks like a root that leads them to a startling discovery as they find a flower on the moon. What follows later is an explosion and an earthquake that claims the men's lives.
An adaptation of John Christopher's 1969 young adult sci-fi novel "The Lotus Caves", "High Moon" was penned by Jim Danger Gray ("Pushing Daisies"). It is set in a future in which the countries of Earth have established colonies to mine the moon's resources. However, chaos erupts after a new life form is discovered.
Jonathan Tucker, Jake Sandvig and Chris Diamantopoulos are included in the cast. The entire pilot will air Monday, September 15 at 9/8c on Syfy.
