James Franco turned his Visionary Award ceremony at the Venice International Film Festival on Friday, August 5 into a film shoot. He accepted the Glory to the Filmmaker prize at the event, and used the occasion to shoot a scene for his new movie "Zeroville".

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "35th: 1977 Venice Film Festival" flashed on screen as festival director Alberto Barbera took the stage and said in Italian that he was giving Mr. Isaac Gerome a special jury prize to celebrate an incredible contribution to the art of editing.

Franco accepted the fictional award in character. He rocked a mustache and a freshly-shaved head with Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift tattoos, and donned an unbuttoned shirt under his velvet suit. The scene was done in two takes before the real ceremony took place.

"If I'm going to make this effort to be a director, I should really just do the movies that I want to make, that no other director I'm working with is making," he said. Now that he has played many roles, he felt the pressure of accomplishing many things in life was lifted off his shoulder, "I think for a long time, it seems like my behavior shows that for some reason I'm worried about running out of time."

Earlier that day, Franco hit the red carpet of his upcoming movie "The Sound and the Fury" which he directed, produced, wrote and starred in. He was joined by his beautiful co-star Ahna O'Reilly who was stunning in a red Monique Lhuillier gown. Other cast members in attendance were Janet Jones, Jacob Loeb and Scott Haze.

In "Zeroville", Franco will play a man who is obsessed with movies. The film is based on Steve Erickson's 2007 book of the same name. Aside from filming a scene during his Visionary Award ceremony, he also shot a scene on a boat in Venice, Italy. He wore glasses and ditched his shirt.
