Having just wrapped up "True Blood", HBO prepares viewers for final seasons of its other shows, "The Newsroom" and "Boardwalk Empire", by releasing the promos. The teaser for the Jeff Daniels-starring series doesn't have any actual footage, but hints at a problem that Will McAvoy faces which may lead to him quit his job as lead anchor on "News Night".
The "Boardwalk Empire" season 5 promo, meanwhile, teases the "evil ways" that Nucky will take to survive in his illegal business. Someone is beaten up, people raise their guns and a riot breaks among prisoners in the woods as Nucky launches a threat to someone over the phone.
The third and final season of "The Newsroom" is slated to premiere in November after "Boardwalk Empire" ends its run. The period drama, meanwhile, is set to kick off its fifth and last installment Sunday, September 7 at 9 P.M. Both shows air on HBO.
