A group of friends try to survive the apocalypse through the intense sequences of terror, violence and destruction.

AceShowbiz - Viewers get a longer sneak peek to supernatural thriller "The Remaining" in a new trailer released by Affirm Films. Sights of destruction on Judgment Day are added along with the characters' struggle to survive and escape what is described as "worse than death."

The film based on biblical accounts of the end times is directed by Casey La Scala and written by La Scala and Chris Dowling. A group of close friends gather for a wedding, but the celebration is shattered by a series of cataclysmic events and enemies foretold by biblical end-times prophecies. The survivors face a horrifying, uncertain future as they scramble for safety, but as their world collapses around them in chaos and terror will they choose real life through faith, or just try to survive?

"A couple of things happened at the same time. When my father passed a lot of things ran through my mind. One being to love the one you're with before it's too late, because things could end in the blink of an eye. I had begun writing 'Amityville', which was the 'Paranormal Activity' model and I begin to think about what it would look like to have global paranormal activity," La Scala said about writing the script.

The PG-13 movie will be released on theaters September 5 in the U.S. It stars Alexa Vega, Shaun Sipos and Johnny Pacar among others.
