Chiwetel Ejiofor Rumored Circling 'Star Wars Episode 7'
Movie

The '12 Years a Slave' actor says, 'We'll see if it happens,' when asked about the possibility of him joining the J.J. Abrams project.

AceShowbiz - Chiwetel Ejiofor becomes the latest actor rumored eying a part in "Star Wars Episode 7", after he was spotted sitting in the lobby of J.J. Abrams' office. Other rumored cast include Benedict Cumberbatch, Harrison Ford, Michael B. Jordan and Saoirse Ronan.

The "Salt" star played coy when asked what happened if he got an offer to be involved in the hotly-anticipated movie. "Well, we'll see if it happens, you know I'm not gonna tell you," the British actor told Flicks and the City during a recent premiere of his new movie "12 Years a Slave".

"Episode 7" is planned to kick off a new trilogy in summer 2015. "Star Wars Episode 8" will follow in 2017 and "Star Wars Episode 9" in 2019. Spin-off movies that focus on the "origin stories" are set to be released between the entries.

Producer Kathleen Kennedy reportedly planned to delay the first installment of the rebooted trilogy to 2016, but Disney turned it down. It came hot on heels of Michael Arndt's departure from the project. Abrams now assumes the script duties along with Lawrence Kasdan.

Plotline for the project is still scarce, but Abrams previously said he wanted to maintain the authentic feel for the series. "I would say we are working really hard to make a movie that feels as emotional and authentic and exciting as possible," he explained.
