A first trailer for "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones", a Latino spin-off of the "Paranormal Activity" movie series, has just arrived ahead of its January 3, 2014 release date. It features a lot of creepy scenes including angry spirits, mysterious bite marks, sinister shadows and demonic possessions among other unsettling things.

The video reveals plotline of the horror story, showing some youngsters breaking into the home of a recently-deceased woman and recording their findings. When they left, apparently the ghosts in the house take a liking to one of them. They follow him home, hounding and taunting him and the people close to him.

The upcoming film stars Andrew Jacobs, Jorge Diaz, Carlos Pratts and Gloria Sandoval. While trying to build a new story around new characters, the spin-off still gives reference to Katie and her sister from the original Oren Peli-created series. Christopher Landon, who wrote the last three "Paranormal Activity" films, directs this new movie.

"Paranormal Activity 5" is slated to haunt theaters in the United States on October 25, 2014. Gregory Plotkin, who served as the editor and co-producer of the last three installments and the upcoming spin-off, is tapped as the helmer. "Almanac" scribe duo Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman will pen the script.
