Jamie Foxx has shot down rumors that he's dating Tom Cruise's ex-wife, Katie Holmes. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight's Nancy O'Dell, the President James Sawyer of "White House Down" insists they're relationship is platonic despite reports stating otherwise.
"[The rumors] are one hundred percent not true," says the 45-year-old actor, who takes a villainous role of Electro in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2". "In fact, it's quite hilarious because we simply danced at a charity event along with a lot of other people."
In Touch previously said that "sparks were clearly flying between Katie and Jamie" when they danced together, along with Ellen DeGeneres, at the 4th annual Apollo in the Hamptons benefit in East Hampton, New York back in August. "Katie and Jamie have been dating for a while," a source told the site.
A so-called friend of Holmes told Us Weekly that Foxx "grabbed her butt and tried to seal the deal" after a dance at the charity event, but Holmes didn't respond to it. "She was flattered, but not interested," said the source.
It's not the first time Holmes was falsely rumored being in a relationship with a new guy following her divorce with Cruise in 2012. In January, she was reported dating Jake Gyllenhaal, and a few months later she was said in the early stages of a relationship with jazz musician Peter Cincotti.
