Jacque Rae Pyles, who has been romantically linked to Justin Bieber, has opened up about their relationship. Speaking to E! News at the Kari Feinstein Lounge at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif., on Friday night, September 20, Pyles said that she and the "Beauty and the Beat" singer met five years ago.

"We met because I was in a girl group for Nick Cannon called School Girls and he was in the movie that we were filming, so from there we just became friends and hung out a lot, and it's just been growing since," she elaborated.

When asked if they were "friends on the same level" or had "mentor relationship," Pyles chose the latter. She explained further, "That's a hard question. Maybe mentorship. Just because of where his career is at, and where mine is at, he's definitely helpful and everything."

Pyles, who said that she was single, admitted in the interview that Bieber had some qualities he liked in men. "You know I just like someone with a sense of humor. Someone that can make me laugh. Like if I'm down, they can just lift my spirits and make everything better," Pyles said, adding that she would "definitely" meet the singer again.

Earlier this month, Bieber and Pyles were snapped boarding a private jet together to watch Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs. Canelo Alvarez boxing match. Pyles wore a black top, light pink blouse and shorts.
