Zombies in outer space may be seen for the first time in Focus Features' "Last Days on Mars". In this sci-fi thriller which has just debuted its first international trailer via MSN U.K., crew members of the first manned mission to Mars fight to survive and return to Earth after their discovery on the Red Planet leads to something horrible.

On their last day on Mars, a crew member of Tantalus Base believes he has made an astounding discovery - fossilized evidence of bacterial life. He heads out on an unauthorized expedition to collect further samples and a routine excavation turns to disaster. As the group begins to fall apart it seems their only hope is the imminent arrival of the relief ship Aurora.

Things go intense as the crew member gets infected with bacteria with blood and screams featured everywhere on scenes in the sneak-peek video. "Tomorrow is our last day. But I don't know if we're going to make it home," Liev Schreiber's character says, hinting at how desperate the situation is.

Directed by Irish filmmaker Ruairi Robinson, "Last Days on Mars" was screened in the Directors' Fortnight section at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. It will open in the U.K. on September and in the States on December 6. Romola Garai, Olivia Williams, Elias Koteas, Johnny Harris, Goran Kostic and Tom Cullen are also starring in the movie.
