AceShowbiz - Katy Perry closed this year's MTV Video Music Awards with the first live TV performance of "Roar", her newest single off "Prism" album. Performing from Brooklyn Bridge Park, the 28-year-old singer appeared on the stage in a tiger print sports bra and flame print shorts.

The boxing ring-themed stage was also decorated with a gold lion and a gold tiger head. Along with two back dancers, Perry showed off her jump-roping skill. She ended her set after standing on a gold-plated podium and accepting her golden belt.

In another Perry news, "Dark Horse" is set to be released as the new track off "Prism", her new album that is due out on October 22.

Previously, Perry shared 30-second previews for two "Prism" songs, "Dark Horse" and "Walking on Air". The snippet for the former song features the singer emotionally singing, "Baby do you dare to do this?/ 'Cause I'm coming at you like a dark horse/ Are you ready for perfect storm?"

Meanwhile, in the snippet for high-energy track "Walking on Fire", Perry sings, "Just when I think I can't take anymore, we go deeper and harder than ever before." She then belts out what may be the song's chorus, "I'm walking on air tonight/ I'm walking on air."

After listening to the short versions of the songs, fans could vote for one song they like best. "Dark Horse", which had been in the lead, won with 60 percent of the votes. "The song chosen will not necessarily be my next single BUT a taste of what my #PRISM has in store for u!" she explained on Twitter on Saturday, August 24.
