Ed Sheeran has announced that he will be performing a solo show at Madison Square Garden later this year. "I am playing madison square garden on november 1st.. Stay tuned for more details...," the 22-year-old singer informed his fans via Twitter on Tuesday, August 20.

Sheeran played his first Manhattan gig in early 2012 at the Mercury Lounge. However, he won't be satisfied with just performing there. "My dad always said you haven't made it 'til you've played Madison Square Garden so it's a massive honor," the British gingerhead said.

Tickets for the show go on sale on Friday, August 23, at 12.00 noon. The pre-sale tickets will be available beginning Wednesday, August 21, at 12:00 noon.

It has also been announced that Sheeran will appear in the fifth season of "The Voice". He will act as an advisor for Christina Aguilera's team.

Sheeran, who has been supporting Taylor Swift's Red tour, recently revealed that he was working on the follow-up to 2011's "+". On Twitter, he said that he hit the studio with Rudimental and The Game to record his new materials.

"Finished the @RudimentalUK session for today, back in tomorrow," Ed tweeted earlier this month. "Now off to make music with one of my favourite artists."

"Just finished up with @thegame, epic," he tweeted again. "Another great day making music. This time me, the game and rudimental. Nuts."
