Film, stage and TV actress Rutina Wesley has filed for divorce from her actor husband Jacob Fishel after eight years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason. The couple, who began their relationship back when they were students in acting school at Julliard, got hitched after they graduated back in 2005. They have no children.
In divorce documents filed on Friday, August 16 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Wesley stated July 22 as the date of her separation from Fishel. The 34-year-old actress is asking the judge to deny any spousal support that her husband may claim stemming from the fact that she is considerably making more than him primarily due to her role on hit TV drama series "True Blood".
On the HBO series, Wesley plays Tara Thornton, a childhood friend of lead character Sookie Stackhouse portrayed by Anna Paquin. "True Blood" ended its sixth season last Sunday, its first five seasons getting both favorable reviews from viewers and awards from the Golden Globes and the Emmys.
Her co-star, Alexander Skarsgard, made the news too after he went full frontal in one of the scenes in the season finale. His character, Eric, went up in flames, but as co-executive producer Brain Buckner assured his fans, the sexy Swedish actor will be back for season 7 and will still be one of the series regulars.
