Mark Wahlberg Getting Mistaken for Matt Damon by Fan
Celebrity

The 'Transformers 4' actor takes it kindly when two female fans share photos of their encounter and boast, 'We saw Matt Damon.'

AceShowbiz -

What do Mark Wahlberg and Matt Damon have in common? Both are top action stars and Boston natives with the latter known as a big fan of the Boston Red Sox. Apparently, for two girls Wahlberg has recently bumped into, the two Hollywood stars also closely resemble each other.

A fan and her friend had a rare opportunity of meeting Wahlberg in person. The two tried to boast about their encounter with the "Ted" actor, whom they thought was "Invictus" star Damon, by uploading some photos. "We saw Matt Damon," the caption read. Wahlberg noticed it but played it cool. He posted the photos on his Facebook and wrote, "Close Enough," with a smiley-face emoticon.

Wahlberg and Damon shared the same frame in 2006's "The Departed", a Martin Scorsese crime thriller which won four Oscars. Since then, the two remain "rivals" with their latest movies now competing for moviegoers' attention.

Wahlberg's "2 Guns", in which he stars opposite Denzel Washington, made its debut at theaters nationwide last week and topped the North American box office chart right away. On its second run, the Baltasar Kormakur pic will face off against Damon's "Elysium" which opens this Friday. Jodie Foster co-stars in the latter.
