The network also bumps the premiere of new series 'Reign' a week to avoid clashing with a Cory Monteith episode of 'Glee'.

AceShowbiz - The CW has made some adjustments to its 2013 fall premiere dates in an effort to give more spotlight to its shows. Originally slated to debut Tuesday, October 15, "The Originals" is now set to premiere on Thursday, October 3 after "The Vampire Diaries", which is also moved up a week.
This way, the network hopes "TVD" fans would stick to watch the spin-off since the new series is facing a tough competition from ABC's highly-anticipated "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." on its regular Tuesdays, 8 P.M. slot.
This switch pushes "Reign" premiere a week to October 17. On the good note, the new drama series will avoid clashing with a Cory Monteith episode of "Glee" on FOX which is expected to draw a huge number of viewers.
"Supernatural", which was initially set to return on October 15, is moved up to October 8, paired with a new episode of "The Originals".
In other news, details of the "Supernatural" spin-off which is still in development have been revealed. According to TVLine, the potential new series will be set in Chi-town and explore the clashing hunter and monster cultures in the Windy City.
The CW's new fall premiere schedule:
Thursday, October 3
Monday, October 7
Tuesday, October 8
Wednesday, October 9
